Total adjusted on-chain volume, which is a proxy for economic throughput, saw a decrease of 8.9% in October, to ~$134.5 billion. The decrease was mainly driven by a significant reduction in Ethereum's on-chain volume. Bitcoin’s on-chain volume actually increased by 18.5% (from $77.7 billion to $92.1 billion), while Ethereum’s on-chain volume decreased significantly by 39.3% (from $70.0 billion to $42.4 billion).

Overall, Bitcoin’s on-chain volume was 2.2 times higher than Ethereum’s in October.
