Q2'23 Blockchain Venture Funding and M&A Recap

Last quarter, $3.2 billion was invested in blockchain-related companies across 508 funding deals. Since venture funding to the sector peaked at approximately $13.5 billion during Q1'22, funding had declined for four consecutive quarters. In Q2'23, that downward trend finally broke, with investment increasing roughly 15% Q/Q. 

Similarly to funding by dollar amounts, blockchain deal activity had fallen for three consecutive quarters, but that broke last quarter, with deals increasing roughly 18% from 430 deals in Q1'23 to 508 during Q2'23.
