Q2'24 Blockchain Venture Funding and M&A Recap

Last quarter, the blockchain sector attracted approximately $3.2 billion through 759 venture deals. Although Q2 was expected to show a notable increase in investment, a weaker-than-anticipated funding month in June, with investments under $1 billion ($835 million), led to Q2’s figures being nearly identical to Q1’s. Despite this, deal activity had a marked 8% increase, from 700 in Q1 to 759 in Q2. This growth was primarily driven by Strategic, Pre-Seed, and Seed deals.

In Q2'24, the blockchain sector saw several trends in venture funding across various stages of investment. There was a general increase in deal activity across most categories in Q2'24, with notable increases in the number of deals in the Early Stage, Pre-Seed, Seed & Pre-Series A, Strategic, and Token Sale categories.
