The Interchange: Cash App bitcoin rewards and other debit programs could onboard millions more into the ecosystem

In The Block's 2020 Research Outlook, the rise of 'crypto rewards cards' was one of a handful of thematic trends presented to watch for in 2020, with the expectation for both BlockFi and Fold to launch respective bitcoin credit, and bitcoin debit card rewards, respectively.

While we may not have the BlockFi credit card out on the market just yet, announcements such as the refreshed Coinbase Card (Visa debit card that allows users to spend their cryptocurrency funds directly from Coinbase accounts and get 1% BTC back or 4% Stellar) and a growing list of crypto-to-fiat debit rewards programs on the market (that is nearing close to +50 unique card programs) is an indication that this market has surely evolved in 2020.
