Top 100 Public Company Crypto Involvement

Forbes Global 2000 ranks the world’s largest public companies using four data points: sales, profits, assets, and market value (May 2022). The Block investigated the top 100 ranked companies and their exposure to the crypto/blockchain sector, identifying 28 firms that have made publicly announced private investments from 2021 to the present day.

The most active top 100 companies were SoftBank and Samsung, both with 33 investments. It is worth noting that, as was the case with many companies in this analysis, Samsung’s venture fund Samsung NEXT was the investor in most of the deals.  Most of the investments were done by companies in the finance and technology sectors, with some involvement from the energy, automotive, communications, and e-commerce industries.
