Block Inc. (formerly known as Square) was founded in February 2009 by Jack Dorsey and Jim McKelvey with the original mission of providing businesses the ability to accept and process credit card payments. Today, Block owns and operates a portfolio of businesses, including Cash App, Square, Spiral, tbd and Tidal.

During its initial IPO, Block had a modest valuation but has since seen a 610% return on share price over the past 7 years with all-time-high returns of +3,114% before the broader market sell-off in August 2021.
