Founded in 2011, Blockchain.com is a crypto company that started out as a key infrastructure provider for the Bitcoin community - its Blockchain Explorer and APIs allowed users to examine blockchain data and build on Bitcoin. Blockchain.com’s current product suite includes a non-custodial wallet, crypto exchange, Blockchain Explorer / APIs and institutional services. The institutional service was launched in 2019 and currently takes up ~50% of Blockchain.com’s revenue. In recent years, Blockchain.com experienced massive customer growth, growing from 1 million users at the beginning of 2014 to 37 million users in 2022. EU customers make up a bulk of Blockchain.com’s customer base – the company is continuing to strengthen its brand equity in the Americas as well. Blockchain.com noted that “both the consumer and institutional businesses are highly profitable” – revenue increased about tenfold since last year, with the institutional business growing at almost double that pace (exact revenue or profit undisclosed). The company focuses on playing the long game, making business decisions based on the long-term horizon rather than cyclical market spikes. Blockchain.com’s 2022 focus includes increasing its marketing efforts, accelerating LatAm expansion and launching its NFT service.

Blockchain.com’s crypto wallet allows its users to instantly buy, sell and swap crypto-assets with credit card, debit card or by linking the bank account. Users can fund a rewards account with crypto and earn up to 11% APY. This wallet is non-custodial, meaning the users are the only ones who have access to their wallets through their respective private keys. Through Blockchain.com’s wallet dashboard, users can view and manage balances across the wallet, the exchange and the hardware. Blockchain.com also recently partnered with Unstoppable Domains to introduce .blockchain domains, which the wallet users can claim for free. Blockchain.com wallet supports Apple Pay and Google Pay. Credit card payments are facilitated by Stripe.
