Three years after their 2018 launch, Fireblocks has had an eventful last twelve months. In September 2020, they reached $150bn in digital asset transfer and by May-21 $637bn (a +775% CAGR). With +100 customers and a $700mm valuation, in May 2021, after completing their $133mm Series C funding round, Fireblocks sits in the spotlight of the growing digital assets infrastructure and business services space.

With digital assets at the forefront of the discussion, exchanges, banks, lenders and other institutional players are vying to expand their capabilities or enter the digital asset space. Fidelity launched their own in-house digital asset desks and research in hopes of capturing market share. Mastercard, PayPal and Visa all announced their own digital asset initiatives. Traditional custodian bank BNY Mellon partnered with digital asset custodian Fireblocks to help clients access crypto markets.
