Flashbots Company Intelligence

Flashbots is a research organization established in 2020 to “enable a permissionless, transparent, and fair ecosystem for MEV extraction.” Flashbots’ goals include democratizing access to MEV revenue, bringing transparency to MEV activity and redistributing MEV revenue. To achieve its mission, Flashbots team develops MEV extraction products, coordinates with external ecosystem teams and collaboratively researches MEV-related issues. Flashbots has three product verticals: (1) Flashbots Auction (2) Flashbots Protect RPC and (3) Flashbots Data. Flashbots Auction serves as a marketplace for transaction ordering. Flashbots Protect RPC is a tool that users can utilize to protect themselves from frontrunning and optimize their transactions. Flashbots Data provides various MEV-related data to increase MEV transparency and reduce information asymmetry. Flashbots plays an integral role for Ethereum network transactions – 83% of validators have registered with the Flashbots relay and Flashbots MEV-Boost Relay currently accounts for 69% of Ethereum blocks. Over half of the blocks on Ethereum contain a transaction protected from frontrunning by Flashbots Protect.
