IOTA, a self-proclaimed “quantum-resistant” decentralized ledger for zero-cost transactions for the Internet of Things, came to a halt for more than 15 hours yesterday as it encountered issues with IOTA Foundation’s coordinator node.

IOTA doesn’t use a conventional blockchain but rather “The Tangle“ or Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG), which is essentially a system where individual transactions are linked to each other. Each transaction needs to be connected to at least two other transactions in order to be confirmed.
