Founded in 2014 as Libra, Lukka created the first cryptocurrency tax solution. Today, Lukka distills raw data to create standardized reporting for middle and back-office roles for firms in the digital asset ecosystem. The platform automates and maintains reporting standards and procedures to streamline operations. 

Between 2014 and 2017, Libra’s tax software grew at a moderate rate until institutional involvement began to balloon during the last bull market and cryptocurrency mania. In response to growing institutional participants, the firm launched what was previously known as Lukka Crypto Office, a back-office accounting and tax software targeted at crypto firms. Initially, the use cases were simple, with few clients and a limited number of supported assets. Lukka marketed its product to fund administrators and the fund services space.
