Mysten Labs Company Intelligence

Mysten Labs was launched in 2021 by former executives/lead architects of Meta’s Novi Research (the team responsible for Diem blockchain and Move programming language). In March 2022, Mysten Labs introduced Sui to the world and started working towards its Mainnet launch (currently scheduled for 2023). Mysten Labs has been focused on growing the Sui community – Sui network has one of the largest Discord communities in the world and the largest Discord community in Web3. The team is utilizing two separate entities (Mysten Labs & Sui Foundation) to foster the growth of the ecosystem. Mysten Labs is in charge of larger commercial agreements and partnerships with big players to bring a lot of these showcase examples to the market. The foundation is building programs and hosting events to support the broader developer community. Mysten Labs emphasized that Sui is not a derivative of the Diem network or an incremental improvement. The network has been built from scratch to implement step-function advancements that cater to the needs of creators and developers in the Web3 space. Key features of Sui include object-based & ownership-centric architecture, parallel execution with causal ordering and horizontal scalability that scales linearly with number of cores.
