Founded inside the broader Stone Ridge Holdings Group umbrella in 2017 (a holding company that also houses a +$10B AUM alternative asset manager known as Stone Ridge), New York Digital Investment Group (NYDIG) was created and incubated by Stone Ridge in response to a lack of an institutional-grade custody and financial solutions provider dedicated to bitcoin - an asset the firm was trying to accumulate for its fund at the time.

Since then, NYDIG has evolved out of an in-house stealth project to become the leading full-service, vertically integrated Bitcoin financial services firm which helps institutions, funds, and corporates of all shapes and sizes acquire and secure bitcoin.
