Roughly $12 billion is allocated to the top 10 largest staking networks staking value

Ethereum made headlines last week when the Ethereum Foundation released the Eth2 deposit address for Phase 0 of Ethereum 2.0, getting it a step closer to its goals of transitioning to Proof-of-Stake (PoS). 

The transition away from its current Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus model will occur in multiple phases. The first stage of the long-awaited transition to PoS, Phase 0, will commence on the first of December if 524,288 ETH, or roughly $238 million at the current value of ETH, is provided by 16,384 staking participants and deposited a week ahead of that date. At the time of writing, nearly 61,100 was deposited, which is about 11.7% of the total.
