TON: Telegram Orphan Network

On May 12, Pavel Durov announced that Telegram was terminating its involvement in the creation of the TON blockchain.

The announcement came in the wake of a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission lawsuit, which first resulted in a temporary ban on the distribution of TON tokens, and later, by a court decision, a permanent one. Investors anticipated having not only a next-generation blockchain but also the help of the Telegram user base in spurring adoption.
