A brief look at Bitcoin's third halving

The highly anticipated third Bitcoin halving is going to happen in less than a month — likely on May 12th. The first halving happened in November 2012 and the second one some 4 years later in July 2016.

What will this mean? On block 630,000, the block reward will decrease from 12.5 BTC to 6.25 BTC. This means in terms of BTC, miners will be rewarded twice less than they were used to.
