A look at the numbers behind the emerging Web3 economy

According to the latest data on Google Trends, interest in “Web3” surged in 2021, peaking around the end of the year. The chart below shows worldwide interest in “Web3” relative to the highest point since the beginning of 2021 through January 16, 2022, on a weekly basis.

The highest point (100) occurred on the week of December 19, 2021, followed by a dramatic 50% drop in interest by the week of January 2, 2022. However, search interest has increased this week with an estimated interest score of 79, or 21% less than the peak point.
