Bitcoin mining’s North American growth in 2021 and outlook for 2022

The Bitcoin mining industry has gone through a significant geographic shift in 2021 with the rise of the hashing power located in North America.

The data provided by four large Bitcoin mining pools estimated that as of August – just three months after China’s crackdown on Bitcoin mining – North America already became the top Bitcoin mining hub with over one third of the network’s total hashing power.
