Decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) comprising various communities in DeFi, NFTs, culture, gaming, and more grew enormously last year, reaching nearly $16B in total AUM and nearly 1.7M total members in December 2021. At the time of writing, 110 DAOs tracked by DeepDao have over 100 members, 78 have over 1,000 members, and 34 have over 10,000 members.

With such enormous growth in internal capital and membership, it's increasingly important to understand how to effectively govern decentralized protocols. One of the most immediate challenges facing decentralized communities over the next few years is figuring out how to manage collective decision-making to optimize fund management and operations.
