Gitcoin: Empowering Open-Source Development

Developers of open-source projects often receive little to no compensation for their contributions as they are, by nature, free for the public to use.

Gitcoin is an Ethereum-based platform that aims to address this and support open-source projects by providing developers and contributors with funding in the form of payments or grants. The platform is governed by the Gitcoin DAO composed of holders of its governance token, GTC. GTC holders have the ability to vote on proposals that would affect the direction of the Gitcoin platform.
