How The Merge Will Affect NFTs

In its present incarnation, the Ethereum network is secured by proof-of-work (PoW) consensus, which has kept its block production engine churning since its inception. However, preparations for a transition to proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus, the most monumental milestone in Ethereum’s history, are currently firing on all cylinders.

Fundamentally altering the fabric of Ethereum’s inner workings, the network will dovetail with the Beacon Chain that has already adopted PoS consensus and has been running in parallel with the Ethereum main net since December 2020.
