Illuvium: Initial Look at Game Design

Illuvium is a digital collectible card game (CCG) with a similar premise to the original Pokémon game. Players can explore, battle, and collect Pokémon-like creatures known as Illuvials. As with most CCGs, players can engage in combat with their captive Illuvials. Illuvium is also working on a land game similar to Axie Land. To facilitate minting and trading of its in-game assets, Illuvium chose Immutable X as its layer-2 NFT infrastructure to allow gas-free trading.

Illuvium has raised $5 million in funding, with Framework Ventures leading the round. It has also raised $38 million through ILV initial DEX offerings on Balancer in March 2021 and $72 million through land sales in June 2022.
