Avalanche is an open-source platform for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications and enterprise solutions. Developers can create customizable blockchains within Avalanche that fit their application’s needs, whether that be an open and public blockchain or a private blockchain solution.

Developed by Ava Labs, the team raised a total of $60 million across three separate sales. In its most extensive and final sale in July 2020, AVA Labs raised $42 million from the public in just under 4.5 hours.
