Mapping out Celo's ecosystem

Celo is a blockchain project that uses a mobile-first approach to empower individuals worldwide through access to financial services and the ability to send money to anyone with their mobile phones. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, cLabs, the central team behind the development of Celo’s platform was founded in 2018 by Marek Olszewski, Rene Reinsberg, and Sep Kamva. 

Like the goals and mission of the Facebook-led project Diem, Celo aims to provide direct impact and relief to developing regions in the world that lack sufficient access to financial services.
