Grasping the vast potential inherent to this blank slate, many first movers have - mainly through the reconceptualization of digital ownership - taken the space by storm. Thus, in conjunction with an intensifying mass exodus from the physical into the digital world, the vague notion of a ubiquitous metaverse has been hailed as the next step in human evolution.

Although it might harbor the ability to disrupt many industries, bringing an elaborate metaverse to fruition is likely still several years away.
