The ERC-20 token standard is the most common token standard in the Ethereum ecosystem. It is a standard for fungible tokens (FTs) that are fungible (i.e., interchangeable) and (usually) divisible. These commodity-like traits make FTs easy to trade at any quantity.

On the other hand, the ERC-721 standard is for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that are non-fungible and non-divisible. These features enable each NFT to have its unique attribute. Meanwhile, the ERC-1155 standard is a variation of ERC-721 that is semi-fungible and non-divisible. Semi-fungibility entails that there can be multiple copies of NFTs with the same attribute.
