Introduction to The Graph — Web3’s query protocol

The vision of Web3 can roughly be characterized as an Internet-native economy, running parallel to the traditional one. Instead of services being owned and operated by company shareholders and registered in some jurisdiction, crypto protocols run on blockchains and are owned and operated by a community of token holders.

The "economy" part of the equation has been the first to see some degree of product-market fit. The total value locked in DeFi services has grown from $1.1 billion to $11.2 billion since June 1st, and last month, Uniswap surpassed Coinbase in trade volume for the first time.
