Revolut has joined the rush among global banks and payment firms to roll out stablecoins, introducing a euro-pegged token called EURR.

In a statement shared with The Block on Wednesday, the crypto-friendly fintech described EURR as "the first step" in its broader stablecoin strategy, which includes plans for tokens linked to other currencies. It will initially be available to eligible customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal.

Revolut said EURR is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a subsidiary of Bridge, adding that the token is designed to maintain a value of €1 and is backed by reserves held by the issuer under applicable MiCA requirements. Bridge was acquired by Stripe for $1.1 billion in February 2025.

According to the statement, the stablecoin will be fully integrated into Revolut's retail app, giving eligible customers a euro-denominated onchain asset that can be moved between euros and crypto. EURR will also be supported across multiple blockchain networks and external wallets.

"EURR connects 80 million Revolut customers directly to onchain finance," Emil Urmanshin, Head of Crypto at Revolut, said. "By combining our global scale and licensed banking infrastructure with instant euro-denominated access to the crypto ecosystem, we are unlocking real-world stablecoin utility that no traditional bank or crypto native can match."

The initial distribution tees up a broader deployment across the European Economic Area later this year, alongside plans for additional currency-denominated stablecoins.

The launch comes as Revolut has continued to fold crypto services into its broader financial platform. Last month, the company connected its standalone Revolut X crypto exchange to third-party AI assistants including Claude, Gemini, OpenClaw, and Cursor, allowing users to analyze markets, set alerts, and place trades through natural-language prompts.

In March, the company received approval from the UK's Prudential Regulation Authority to launch Revolut Bank UK, while in June its U.S. chief executive told Reuters that the company's planned U.S. bank would offer stablecoin services alongside traditional banking products.
