MetaMUI Completes Post-Quantum Mainnet Migration Without Asset Transfers

SEOUL, South Korea - September 17, 2026 - MetaMUI has completed a post-quantum hard fork of its production Layer-1 mainnet, changing the network’s cryptographic architecture without requiring existing holders to transfer balances to new destination accounts.

The hard fork was completed on September 13 at block 35,499,408.

For blockchain networks, adopting a post-quantum signature algorithm is only part of the transition. The more difficult engineering problem is changing the cryptography of a live network after wallets, identities and assets already depend on its existing security model.

Why MetaMUI can migrate in place

MetaMUI approaches that migration through its identity-based account architecture. On conventional blockchain accounts, control of an address is closely coupled to a cryptographic key. MetaMUI instead uses decentralized identifiers as accounts, with cryptographic keys registered as credentials against those identities. Balances are bound to the identifier rather than permanently to one key.

During the hard fork, MetaMUI’s account namespace moved from did:ssid: to did:mmui:. When an existing user updates the MetaMUI Wallet and unlocks it normally, the wallet registers a Falcon-512 key against the carried-forward identity.

No balance transfer to a new destination account is required. Users do not need to create a separate replacement account, and no user-paid migration fee is charged. Custodians can register upgraded keys for balances they hold, meaning exchange customers do not need to perform individual on-chain migrations.

“The real challenge is not choosing a stronger algorithm. It is changing the cryptography of a live network without forcing users to move their assets,” said Seokgu “Phantom” Yun, Founder and Chief Architect of MetaMUI. “That is what this hard fork demonstrates on mainnet.”

The company describes the migration narrowly: accounts that are never reopened retain their existing classical key until they are activated through the updated wallet. The deployment is therefore an in-place migration path for an existing user base, rather than a claim that dormant accounts become post-quantum without interaction.

What runs on the network

Post-quantum signatures now cover transaction signing, identity and consensus. MetaMUI uses Falcon-512, selected for its compact signatures and efficient verification characteristics. Falcon is being standardized by NIST as FN-DSA under draft FIPS 206.

MetaMUI uses deterministic single-block finality. In company measurements on a three-validator deployment in a single region, median finality was approximately 65 milliseconds and the 99th percentile approximately 524 milliseconds. Throughput is stated at approximately 2,950 TPS as a derived figure, not a load-tested benchmark.

About MetaMUI

MetaMUI is a decentralized-identity-native blockchain developed by SovereignWallet for regulated financial infrastructure. Its account model treats identity as a native protocol primitive: an account is a decentralized identifier and a cryptographic key is a credential registered against it.

Following its September 2026 hard fork, MetaMUI operates with post-quantum cryptography across transaction signing, identity and consensus. The network has been identity-based since 2021 and is designed for regulated payments, stablecoin settlement and institutional digital assets.
