On Thursday, DigixGlobal announced that it would be introducing a quarterly dissolution mechanism to DigixDAO. Every 3 months, DigixDAO (DGD) token holders will now have the opportunity to vote on a 'full dissolution' proposal beginning in 1Q20. If passed, the DAO would be shut down and its entire treasury balance of 386,250 ETH (worth approximately $57 million) would be distributed amongst the DGD token holders.

A full dissolution proposal had been alluded to previously by DigixGlobal CEO Kai Chng (as we had discussed in last week’s column), but most of the mechanics of a potential dissolution were left rather ambiguous at the time.
