GBTC now holds more than 285,000 bitcoin, 1.57% of all BTC

Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), a closed-end fund that invests exclusively in bitcoin, lets investors get exposure to bitcoin through a traditional investment vehicle with shares titled in the investors’ name.

GBTC currently has $2.79 billion of assets under management, which in this case equals the value of all the bitcoins held in the fund. When looking at AUM by the end of each month, last month’s $2.65 billion was an all-time high. In reality, though, AUM hit an all-time high of $3.3 billion on December 18, 2017.
