June Blue-Chip NFT Recap

June emerged as a crucial month for Ethereum's blue-chip Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), registering an impressive 29% month-over-month increase in trading volume from $404 million to $525 million. Dominating this surge were the NFT collections of Azuki, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), and Mutant Ape Yacht Club, commanding a significant 88% share of the total volume.

Azuki Elementals, a new anime-themed NFT collection by the creators of Azuki, sparked a controversy despite selling out all 20,000 NFTs during the presale, which netted $30 million. Azuki’s floor price plummeted by 58% from 17 ETH to just 5.5 ETH, though they made a minor recovery to 7 ETH.
