Azuki officially launched its ANME token airdrop on January 23, 2025. While it is an Ethereum-native asset, like Pudgy Penguins, Azuki opted to airdrop its token on a different chain — in its case Arbitrum One — instead of Ethereum, likely due to Ethereum’s lower throughput and higher transaction costs. This is similar to Pudgy Penguin’s PENGU airdrop, which was launched on SolanaSimilar to PENGU, Binance also announced that they would support the trading of the ANIME token one day before the actual airdrop.

37.5% of the total ANIME supply was allocated to the community, though the exact split amongst Azukis, Beanz and Elementals is not known. Unlike PENGU, which allocated over 24.1% to other communities, only 2% of ANIME was allocated to partner communities, specifically HYPE stakers and Kaito users. Approximately 23.06% of the supply is allocated for the team and company, and the remaining 37.44% is used for growing the Azuki community.
