Trading fees aren’t everything

Despite disappointing trade volumes for the back half of last year, the battle for market dominance between exchanges rages on. While many have tried to improve the customer experience by expanding their product offering (ie: derivatives, otc, custody), Poloniex's strategy, on the other hand, appears to be around providing low trading fees.

If you recall, Circle announced in mid- October that it would spin out Poloniex. Backed by an unnamed group of Asian investors (which was later confirmed to include Justin Sun, the founder of Tron), Poloniex stated that they would no longer serve U.S. customers as of November 1^st “in order to be competitive on the global market.”
