This week, Apple unveiled its long rumored credit card partnership with Goldman Sachs and Mastercard. A lukewarm rewards offer aside, arguably the most interesting feature from Apple Card is the incremental security/privacy offering the product brings to the table. These features include:

According to the announcement, it sounds like the credit issuer, Goldman Sachs, will be the only firm with real access to consumer purchase level data. While many have applauded the privacy moves Apple has pushed with this product, some have stated the fact that Goldman still receives this data makes this a weaker privacy offering than Bitcoin. They're wrong. The fact that Goldman has access to this data should be expected from an issuer of credit.
