The address is expected to be closely watched by many in the industry as Trump attempts to solidify his growing support among crypto fans, a majority of whom recently told Gemini in a survey that the candidates' stances on crypto will be a factor in their decision on which candidate to support in November.

The former President's speech is currently delayed, reportedly because a "special guest" is on the way, according to Bitcoin 2024's news desk.
Trump has spent recent weeks making inroads with the digital asset industry, meeting with Bitcoin miners, selecting crypto-friendly JD Vance as his Vice Presidential pick, accepting crypto donations for his campaign, and releasing several sets of NFTs.
Trump may have to convince some voters that he's changed his mind on Bitcoin given his prior anti-crypto comments during the 2020 Presidential race. Democratic Representative Wiley Nickel called out Trump earlier in the day for his past comments calling crypto "a scam."
"Folks, I can tell you one thing and I want to say this as politely and respectfully as I can: Donald Trump was President for four years, he did nothing on this issue, and right now I can tell you he's totally full of s—t," Nickel said.
