Two years ago, Infinex set out to solve one of crypto's most persistent problems, user experience. The project's thesis is straightforward: the fragmentation across chains, wallets, and applications has become the primary barrier to mainstream crypto adoption. The solution is to abstract away all complexity and friction so that getting onchain is easy.

The architecture

Infinex uses Turnkey, the key management infrastructure developed by the team behind Coinbase Custody. Rather than seed phrases, the platform uses passkeys for authentication, a technology increasingly adopted across consumer applications for passwordless login. Warwick said, “Passkeys allow users to log in with multiple devices simultaneously, handing off from mobile to desktop and back with zero friction.”

The platform provides a unified portfolio view across 25+ chains. Users can swap and bridge assets through what Infinex calls "Swidge" - a DEX, bridge, and NEAR intent aggregator rolled into a single interface. Swidge provides access to a huge amount of tokens, across chains, including assets that previously relied on centralized exchanges for liquidity, like BTC, XRP, DOGE & ZEC. A universal gas account allows users to pay for transactions on any supported chain from a single balance, eliminating the need to hold native tokens on each network.

The extension

For users who prefer interacting with dapps directly, Infinex released a browser extension that Warwick describes as “a modern redesign of the standard browser connection.” The extension combines gas abstraction with cross-chain functionality, allowing users to interact with new chains without first acquiring native gas tokens.

Warwick says, “Most user frustration in crypto stems from the endless chores and drudgery required for simple tasks such as testing a new chain or application. The Infinex Extension removes this friction by combining gas abstraction and Swidge. Using a new chain or application is effortless and delightful again.”

When networks like MegaETH go live, Infinex users will be able to bridge from any supported chain and begin interacting with applications within minutes, without needing to source gas tokens or configure new network settings.

The extension launched recently but has already reached feature parity with established competitors. A mobile app is now in development, which Warwick describes as the final piece required to deliver "the most universal and lowest friction onchain experience in crypto."

First-party applications

Beyond wallet infrastructure, Infinex has built first-party applications that share a single login session with the main platform. Infinex Perps, the first of these, functions as a perpetuals aggregator supporting Hyperliquid, and soon Lighter and Synthetix. The product will expand to include spot assets in early 2026 and evolve into Infinex Pro, offering spot, margin, and perpetuals trading with options planned for later in the year.

Additional applications include Infinex Predict and Infinex NFT, both currently in early access. The shared authentication layer enables users to move between applications without having to reconnect their wallets or reauthorise.

Coverage and expansion

One of Infinex's stated goals was enabling users to buy any asset in the top 100 on CoinGecko and hold it in a non-custodial wallet. The addition of NEAR intents has accelerated progress toward that target - the platform now supports around 85% of the top 100 assets, including BTC, ETH, XRP, LTC and ZEC. Full coverage of the top 100 is expected in the first half of 2026.

Infinex has also positioned itself as a launch partner for anticipated network deployments, including MegaETH and Fogo, betting that day-one support for new chains will drive adoption among users seeking frictionless access to emerging ecosystems.

What’s coming

Infinex’s roadmap is exciting - with a mobile app, Infinex Predict, and Infinex NFT coming in early 2026. Warwick frames the opportunity in competitive terms - Infinex can now challenge centralized exchanges on both functionality and user experience, while maintaining the self-custody properties that define crypto's value proposition.

"We've built one of the most novel crypto products," said Warwick. "The product continues to get better. Those who have been using Infinex consistently talk about the release cadence and the focus on improving usability. We polish and hone user experience better than any team in crypto."
