A Look at Shared Sequencing Part 2: Protocols

In an earlier research piece, we covered what shared sequencing meant and the pros and cons it brings for rollups. Considering how the pros outweigh the cons, it is no surprise that we are seeing considerable efforts in building a shared sequencing layer. 

Each protocol’s idea of a sequencing layer varies slightly as they adopt different implementations. In this piece, we will look at the design of three different protocols: Astria, Espresso and Radius. Additionally, we will also discuss the potential applications of a shared sequencing layer.
