There’s an open investigation carried by the British Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) into 18 crypto companies operating in the UK in connection with cryptocurrency transactions amid market threats, reports the Sunday Telegraph. While the original inquiry launched in November involved 67 UK-based firms, the agency has since then closed the inquiry for the majority of them.

However, according to Sunday Telegraph, consumer alerts have been issued for 39 firms. The agency is yet to reveal the names and details of the companies that are still under the microscope.

The FCA declined to name the companies, but this move will strengthen crypto asset regulation in the UK.
