Patrick Byrne, CEO of online retailer Overstock, told CoinDesk on Friday that his company plans on launching its security token trading platform, tZERO, by the end of next week. "It’s a big moment for us — four years in the making,” Bryne tells CoinDesk, adding that the company is “ready to hit the button and go live today" but wants to wait for more user signups.

Bryne's announcement comes after a $270M investment in tZERO last August by Hong Kong-based private equity firm, GSR Capital. tZERO will be led by Steven Hopkins, the former COO and General Counsel of Medici Ventures, Overstock's investment arm. At launch, traders on tZERO will be able to trade its native tZERO token. tZERO is also talking to 60 companies for potential security token listings.
