Crypto wallet developer Exodus Movement has launched Passkeys Wallet, designed to provide a more frictionless web3 onboarding process.
Unlike existing web3 wallets, users can create and fund their Passkeys Wallet directly within the application they are using, without the need for generating and safeguarding backup seed phrases or downloading browser extensions, according to a statement shared with The Block.
Exodus’ self-custodial Passkeys Wallet can be embedded into any platform or alternatively, used as a standalone application, the team said, using passkey technology to create their wallet with just one click through the use of cryptographic key pairs and Multi-Party Computation (MPC).
Developers can integrate Passkeys Wallet into their applications within a few minutes, Exodus claims, with integrated fiat on-ramps and cross-chain swapping features, which could help unlock additional revenue streams for dapps.
“We’re ecstatic to launch the Exodus Passkeys Wallet, a uniquely self-custodial and simple standalone solution, with the easiest on-ramp experience and the fastest integration,” Exodus CEO and co-founder JP Richardson said. “With just one click, users can create their wallet, or 'Passkey,' and seamlessly connect to an application, able to market-integrate in less than 10 minutes, with just a few lines of code.”
A waitlist for the Passkeys Wallet is live from Tuesday and will support Bitcoin, Solana and Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible networks upon launch.
