Steve Wozniak remains optimistic about Bitcoin’s potential

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak stands by his hope that Bitcoin will eventually become the world’s single currency. During a recent interview with Bloomberg, Wozniak was asked to elaborate on the statement within the context of the token’s drop in value. In his response, the entrepreneur contested the claim of Bitcoin’s “massive value destruction.”

“I’m not sure I can buy that we’ve seen massive value destruction; I think we’ve seen massive value creation,” said Wozniak. “The psychology factor’s kind of a fear thing. And there was this idea that bitcoin might go up to $40,000, and it went up to $20,000.” 

Additionally, Wozniak explained that he does not look at Bitcoin “as an investor” and had only acquired the currency to find places which would accept it for payment. “I still experiment with it on new Bitcoin devices and all,” he added.
