Jared Polis, elected Governor of Colorado last night, ran on a platform that included proposals on blockchain adoption and use. At the end of the summer, Polis posted a few actions that he would, "take as governor to ensure Colorado's economy and government benefit most from blockchain technology". At the bottom of the page, there's a Bitpay donation button that accepts both bitcoin and bitcoin cash. Polis has supported cryptocurrencies for some time. When West Virginian Senator Joe Manchin called for a Bitcoin ban in 2014, Polis responded with a satirical ban on the U.S. Dollar and highlighted some of the benefits of cryptocurrencies as well as some of the flaws with fiat. Polis, after a successful election, now has the chance to make Colorado a national hub for blockchain innovation. (Source: Bitcoinist)
